Her work is strong, often very colourful, and has always such strength of design that I MUST learn more about.
For instance:
CRUCIFORM STUDY by Jane Davies |
FRESH PAINT #3 by Jane Davies |
FIELD OF 'O'S by Jane Davies |
However, do visit Jane's blog or her website for a real treat.....and, if you can't resist, you can purchase her work from Fine Art America.
Always exciting to be learning more about what you enjoy Jo!

Wow - incredibly vibrant, What a joy to be doing an 'on line class'- looking forward to your works, Jo X
ReplyDeleteI like Jane's work too. I am sure you will be making some wonderful pieces in this class, do share! xox
ReplyDeleteHey, THANKS, Jo! So good to have you in this online group. I am so excited to be working with you.
ReplyDeleteI'm SO jealous! I took a class from Jane in person last fall and it was great - I'm sure you'll learn lots! I've tried using that cruciform composition in some of my pieces and though I always love Jane's, I've never liked mine....even when I start out thinking to exaggerate the proportions, all I see is a cross when I'm done. I really must try again - that sample is so dynamite! Can't wait to see what you learn!
ReplyDeleteI love Jane's art and now I own a little piece(thanks to her postcard swap to save the PO)! She was the first one who got me so interested in abstract art thru her blog-and now I have your inspiration too! I'm really looking forward to your projects :)
ReplyDeleteKeep on pushing the limits and please show us the results at the end of the course. I recognize "Field of O's" from Pinterest. Off to check Jane's website now.
ReplyDeleteI spent about 4 hours working on lesson 1 last Friday - glorious exploratory time. I feel I have barely scratched the surface of the exercises. then life kicked into overload and I haven't done any more studies, or photographed or blogged my work, or even visited the class blog. I'm eager to just shut out the world and focus on this.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun to be doing an online class. Jane's works look great! I can hardly wait to see your next projects, Jo!

ReplyDeleteHello Jo! Your postcard was the first that I received in the swap! How fun to come over here and see the cool things that you are involved in. Good for you for moving forward and trying new things - love it!!
ReplyDeleteWell done Jo! Looking forward in seeing where it will take you...
ReplyDeleteLovely work Jo and I will look forward to seeing more.
