TRANSFIGURED - 35 x 35 cm on watercolour paper |
It used to be this:
After looking at it for a while, I decided that it was far too busy and needed to be focussed.
I removed stuff, added stuff, fiddled a bit here and there....et voilĂ ! We now have a much happier artist.
What do you think?
Love the final version, it has so much impact and you know I love the textures :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, yes yes! The background is less busy so that the forms have much more impact. It seems more personal as well.
ReplyDeleteLove the transfiguration. All your elements added such depth to the piece. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteStay inspired!
I love what looks like a brass piece on top. The revision is simpler but seems to have much more visible interest.

This is wonderful - I love both but I can see the depth of change you have in your final piece - I love the evolution of your blues and coppers they add such emotion and mood!! Cheers Jo!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I like them both. The revision is purely abstract and has wnderful texture. The original focues for me more on the figure and my thpught was a chaoticly alive tree. Love em both. xox
ReplyDeleteI like them both, but the revision is my favorite... clean and powerful.. well done...
ReplyDeleteBoth are fabulous Jo...but your artists eye did tweak the piece adding extra texture and focus with brilliant results!

A great revision, Jo; I agree with you that the second version is a much stronger piece. Abstract compositions can be difficult, but this one really sings...
ReplyDeleteHi JM - I think simple is best. B
ReplyDeleteThere's a more cohesive and "finished" look to the revised version, isn't there? Love what you did.
ReplyDeleteHi Jo it's Antonia here, Thank you so much for buying my Imagine canvas and thereby contributing to such a worthy cause. I am happy to think that my little canvas will be taking up residence on the other side of the world ! I will be getting it ready today and will post it off to you tomorrow. I hope you will enjoy it. Love your collage pieces and although both have elements I really like I agree with the rest of your commentators that the revised piece has a stronger impact, love the textured rectangles . Thank you once again Jo I'll let you Know when the canvas is in the post xxx toni xx
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the transformation. You were spot on.
ReplyDeleteYes. You know exactly what to put in and what to take out.
