Blogging is fun....but
You collect so many links and 'friends' when blogging that it seems that you can't keep up. Truth is.....you CAN'T. I hope I'm forgiven when I don't comment. Sometimes I can't even get to read all my favourite blogs. There is SO much to see...and it's all fascinating...but time is short.
I've had a break, but don't think I've been sitting around doing nothing.
In progress:
(not a brilliant photo...but you get the idea)
On the easel:
Still thinking about:
ATCs I've traded recently:
...so I'm still having fun!
I don't mind if you don't comment, just so long as you keep on blogging, even if it is only occasionally.
ReplyDeletePenny is right Jo - we would be the looser if you ever stopped blogging - I love your colours, textures and experiments and your card swaps are always fun to see - you put a lot of time and effort into it all - it is fun to see you as well!!
ReplyDeleteLove your works in progress Jo and the ATC's are pure fun. Annette x

Hahah- I'm still laughing at that last ATC!! Wow! And I thought I was on a roll! Geesh Jo! Not sure which is my fav- I was loving the beach scene when I pulled up that -still thinking! I love that as is! and the first piece is so full of layers and textures, I look forward to the follow up photo! Yup, I get what you are saying about trying to play catch up- so, stop when you can, if you can't, I know where you are! And it is always great to see others art, so yes please, keep blogging my friend!
ReplyDeletehugs ") ...and,stay close to that pool!!
Oh I know the feeling, Jo!
ReplyDeleteLove what you've done and the best to you.
Yep, ditto, I'm hearing ya! I see your painting (on the easel) is coming along.
ReplyDeleteHi JM - not always easy to keep up the blogging pace - but also good to see what friends have been up to - and of course you have ranged across many areas - good for the spirit when one creates for oneself - go well. B
ReplyDeleteIt's so true - I spend almost every lunch break at work trying to keep up with everyone's projects and experiments and it's TOUGH. But I'm not prepared to give anyone up cuz, like you said, they're inspirational, they're friends, and I want to see what they're doing and feeling. Then if you add in the time to photograph or scan your own work and blog about it.......well - it's certainly a time suck! But, if we didn't do it then I'd miss seeing your great pieces....look at the range of talent you're showing here and the range of style. My goodness, it seems you can do it all! I love what's on your easel...maybe because it's so far out of my capability, but also because of the feeling it evokes....it could be me and Dan peacefully walking along the beach (except we don't wear hats :) - I just love it.
ReplyDeleteComment or don't, as you have time/inclination - it's all good!
I so get what you are saying, there is NO way to keep up, but you hate to miss out at the same time. This house rehab has definitely taught me that if nothing else. Love you abstract work but that beach walk painting is quite wonderful. You are a talented lady for sure Jo. xox
ReplyDeleteYour Aboriginal ATC is especially terrific. I like how the art echoes the stamp. Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteHey there!! Loving how your beach scene is looking. I really enjoyed the tour of your studio. You have an amazing amount of works in progress. I actually closed my blog for awhile, probably until after the holidays. Just couldn't keep up and I hated it sitting there. Too much temptation/guilt to work on it when I don't have the time or inclination right now. Okay friend, love your art!!!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree it can be very hard to keep up AND go thru daily life AND make art. I do try because the artists I get to meet and visit with are so inspiring and I appreciate it so much. But when I am not able I let it be OK, we're only human after all:) You have been very busy creating a great variety of projects Jo! I'll be very interested in seeing where you take your two abstracts.
ReplyDeleteFun IS what it is all about isn't it
ReplyDeleteAND
keeping up certainly remains a constant challenge.
In the end we do what what we can.
You create so much fabulous art Jo ...
it is always a delight to be able to connect with you across the miles...
Happy end of October (Oh My!!!)

ReplyDeleteYes, keeping up in the blogland is quite difficult!

Am liking the paintings very much!
ReplyDeleteThe red 'Still thinking about' painting is fabulous as is - yep, blogging is time consuming and has become increasingly difficult but is SO inspiring when I get into it XX
ReplyDeleteI agree with Noella about the red painting! I also really like your ATC's. It is hard to get around to all the blogs, but I do think people understand, and appreciate the comments whenever you make them! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I'm late again. I have no idea how you slipped these lovely pieces in when I wasn't looking. Maybe it was when I was offline.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that blogging can be very time consuming, especially if you read every word like I do. Of course, around here, my internet is so slow as a rule, I have trouble even on good days. I just appreciate when you drop by, even if you don't have a chance to comment. And I love your updates, because you are such a great artist. You certainly inspire me, and I'm glad I can visit, even if it is through cyberspace.
BTW, I LOVE the one you are still thinking about. I think it is finished, but it will tell YOU when it is.
Jo thanks for dropping by Painting On and leaving a comment on my new encaustic work. I enjoyed seeing what you are up to in your studio. I agree that it is difficult to keep up the blogging pace. On my painting blog I'm back to it after almost a year away.
ReplyDeleteIt is so true! There are so many blogs and so little time.. I enjoy catching up on each blog..but life and work take time to cultivate! I love all your polka dots..
ReplyDeleteOh what a fun blog. I love the diversity of your art...so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteVery nice paintings.

ReplyDeleteJo, sometimes we know we need to make changes for months, and yet we still need a push for those changes to happen. I really appreciate your candor on this matter. I am needing to revamp my time on visits (and isn't it ironic, that spotting this here, reminds me.) Thanks for your heartfelt post. See you when I see you!
ReplyDeleteSometimes, I find it hard to believe how fast the days are flying by. It's a challenge getting around to all of the wonderful blogs. One could almost live in their computer chair :)
ReplyDeleteHoliday hugs,
Gaby
