They waited patiently for the official opening ceremony to be completed then all were given access to the gallery at the same time. After all, fair's fair. It was like the opening of a David Jones post-Christmas sale.
Jade, from Pokokai at Nambour, did the honours with an excellent, and not too lengthy, speech.
I was delighted to see my works hung right by the front door, near one of Kim Schoenberger's fabulous little sculptures.
One of my favourite works by Kim was this one...

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a successful show Jo.
ReplyDeleteI is nice to see you standing next to Kim's work.
Your work looks amazing, with the bold colors and the intricate textures.
Congrats on selling your work and hope you sell more as the show progresses! It must be so exciting to see your work sell and know somebody liked it enough to PAY for it!!! And I really like your torso drawing and am pleased you won an award for it - it's simple but evocative!
ReplyDeleteIt was a blast Jo, and congrats on your sales, and thanks for sharing me in your post too :-)

Jo, congratulations to you on your continued success! it looks like a fun event.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great exhibition & love the fact it had all the excitement of a DJ's sale (I LOVE DJ's esp their sales LOL) Your work is wonderful, the placement fantastic too, what a buzz it would have been to see red dots go up & some walk out the door, just brilliant. I think it's important to have art accessible to the public, so that was a great idea to have smaller portable works & love your friend Kim's sculptures too!
ReplyDeleteJ- Great effort and so good to see the red stickers flow - you are in the groove with this new approach.Go well. B
ReplyDeleteGreat fun to see this special art event so popular AND to see your sweet smiling face too :)
