It is always a good idea to put a painting that you think is 'finished' in a place where you unexpectedly come across it. Often you will find that a little something extra is required to really bring it to the final stage.
A CONVERSATION WITH MYSELF 12" x12" acrylics on stretched canvas
This happened with the above, which I now feel is finished, when compared to the image below.
Subtle, but I think absolutely necessary. Does anyone agree?
I love it, and yes those subtle touches are definetelyu the finishing touchesReplyDelete
Yes Jo, what you added does make a different and it looks super!ReplyDelete
I love the painting, and I think the touches you added were perfect! I think it looks great!ReplyDelete
I see it! Just a bit of accent in the right place serves to enhance and finish the piece. (Love those receding dots!)ReplyDelete
Totally agree. Those small details can make such a big difference -- especially as the finishing touch.ReplyDelete
I definitely agree - the little shading and drips make a huge difference. Love the color scheme.ReplyDelete
Yes I saw the difference immediately and the finished piece just feels right.ReplyDelete
so subtle but so right!!ReplyDelete
absolutely Jo !!!ReplyDelete
but............when do you stop 'finishing' it ?ReplyDelete
oooh yes! I keep scrolling back and forth between them to pick up on all the nuances. so much more depth and life to the the finished painting. lovely!ReplyDelete
Yup!! Perfect subtle change! I think the small dots finish it for me.LOVE the painting.ReplyDelete
Ummm it really pops now...xoxReplyDelete
Yes, I agree too. I am doing the same thing with my work for the upcoming show at 'Rosebed St'. I agree also with Nancy - when do you stop 'finishing' - for me it may be the day I hang them up!!!ReplyDelete
The changes in tones and smoothing of markings has given it a harmonious feel. Very appealing to the eye, makes for a soothing transition as your eye travels the piece.ReplyDelete
this is brilliant Jo!!! Those subtle changes made for a powerful imapct on the visual.Love it!ReplyDelete
I do like it! Cool additions!ReplyDelete
Subtle but necessary indeed - I agree!ReplyDelete
yes, most definitely agree!ReplyDelete
JM - subtle changes indeed - but stronger . BReplyDelete
i totally agree -- and love it!ReplyDelete
You are SO right. It's so much improved. I love them both. I think this color palette makes me happy. But I never thought about putting it somewhere unexpected. After looking at it for so long, that is just what one needs! Out of context!ReplyDelete

These are really smal touchup's but looks really great. These types of creativity shows your Art work.ReplyDelete
