Tradition decrees that I have a giveaway to celebrate. I can do that.
Let's say you choose one of the following and, in your comments tell me why you like it. In one week, the 11th, I'll have himself choose the most creative or amusing reason for each one. Richard has quite a sense of humour so don't be backward.
1. A small piece, matted to fit a 5 x 7 inch standard frame.
Squall - acrylics |
2. An ATC.. . standard size 2.5 x 3 inches.
Under The Sea - Collage |
3. Collage... 5 x 7 inches on matboard and fomecore.
Moon/Earth #6 |
A big congratulations Jo. That is a wonderful milestone to reach. Sign me up for the giveaway. And I chose artwork #3. And while not actually funny, my reason (other than the fact that I like it) is because I think it is important to always shoot for the Moon but at the same time keep your feet firmly planted on Earth!
ReplyDeleteHi Jo--From someone who is working her way towards 20 followers...congrats on reaching 100!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to try for Squall...as we in the D.C./Northern Va area are just recovering from a mighty one (squall, that is) last Friday night. Although I was one of the fortunate ones whose electricity stayed on, I've been hearing many a war story about those who were not so fortunate. One of my co-workers even had her chimney blown off! Quite an eventful evening!
Hi Jo - found you by way of Seth, and while I have my own giveaway going, my work is nowhere near as good as yours. Love it! I'd like to go for #3 (aka Moon/Earth #6). I see so much movement and energy in it. I think of a graceful antelope, running ever forward just out of frame, with only its horns and flying rear legs in sight. Yet its as much a part of the environment as the moon and earth, as is every living thing.
ReplyDeleteSquall for me, thanks Jo. Why do I like it? ..... Hmmmm, my mind feels just like the painting. Squalls of bright ideas, here and there. Congrats on your 101!
ReplyDeleteId like number 3 because I believe aliens exist and live among us, just like the movie Men in Black says!

Congrats on having 100 folowers Jo-I'm not at all surprised-your art is stunning! I love all three of your giveaways but I'm going to choose the ATC-Under The Sea. I love the ocean, the beach , the water so this was an easy choice. I love how you created the elements of earth, air and water, and how the triangle also represents the three elements, or even the trilogy of Father ,Son, Holy Ghost or woman, goddess, crone. It's a soothing and beautiful collage.
ReplyDeleteI must say I particularly like the collage 'under the sea', BUT the 'Moon Earth' collage really hits home as it looks like our back screen door (that Garry just built) AFTER one errant grandson put his hand through it and Papa the yelled "Oh Shit!!!"
ReplyDeleteMoon/Earth for me! I'm not particularly good at clever or funny - it appeals to me partly because of the colors but primarily because of the stellar use of textures; you're a master at that! Congrats on reaching 100 - isn't it lovely to know that people enjoy your efforts? You know I do!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 100 followers. Moon/Earth is my pick. I feel like I am at Stonehenge or under some sort of ancient pillars looking up, up at the moon. The colors and shapes send me a mystical feeling. How about...I like it and I want it! I appreciate the use of materials and the way it all comes together. Thanks for sharing your world with me.
ReplyDeletesince I am already lucky enough to have a piece of your artwork...don't count me in the draw
ReplyDeleteyou know that I am a fan too
BIG Congratulations on your following continuing to grow Jo...so happy we are connected here in the land of blog :)oxo
See? This is how good you are at pleasing your readers! You have over 100 people following you, now, and you aren't even near some of them!
ReplyDeleteI tend to social phobia, so once I got to 70 followers, I started writing and asking people not to follow so close. I mean, it was scary. So I'm very proud that you are comfortable with my looking over your shoulder.
These are sweet little things that would really rather be kept in a set (like puppies) when they come to me. Thank you!
Hi Jo!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this opportunity and congratulations on your 100!!
I like them all, am in love with the screen used on your Moon piece, but there's something swiggly and wiggly and COLORFUL that just makes me smile at the first piece. So yes, swiggly and wiggly would be my pick ;)
Kristin xoxo!
Hi Jo, wishing you a happy 100!! I love all 3 of your artworks, but Squall is shouting "ME! ME! ME!" Who am I to argue?!

Ooops---almost didn't get my entry in...Congrats on 103! Moon/Earth is calling to me and it's saying "I want to move to California!" Big hugs!
ReplyDeleteHi Jo, congrats on your 100 follower milestone! I'd love to join in the fun of your giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI like #6 Moon Earth - because I'm an earthy kinda girl, I love hardwork and getting downright dirty! At about 10yrs old I made mud pies and threw them at my brother :-D from about 16 to 30something everyday I would re-pot, care and grow plants for & in Nurseries, 30something to current (40something :0) I am playing with 'clay'. An earth sign, the earth runs in my viens. Where does the moon come into it you say? Well she reflects the light to show me the way...
Congrats on your 100 followers. It's exciting to connect with so many people, isn't it?? My favorite is Moon/Earth #6. I love the layers and colors!
ReplyDeleteGreat variation of creative ability you have Jo, I am so glad you have given your followers a chance like this, I would adore to have any of your wildly inspiring work, but as I look out the window right now "squall" is the art work beckoning to me....
